Komoka Kings bring home a big win Thursday night taking a 5-4 DOT game from the Legionnaires at the Sarnia Arena.

Led by Kurt Watson's 3 goal night, and goals by Dario Beljo and Joel Mazzilli the Kings had a great overall team effort pinning Sarnia in their end for extended periods.  Despite the 9 goals, both goalies made many spectacular saves in the nail-biter game.

Kurt Watson started the scoring at 5:34 of the first period with assists from D'Arcy Panziera and Dario Beljo.  Sarnia tied it at 13:20 on a power play goal.  In the second, Sarnia scored at 1:55 and a power play goal at 8:59 before Kings Dario Beljo notched his 5th of the season with assists from Jacob Rochford and Blake McConnell-Barker to end the period 2-3 in favour of the Legionnaires.

In the third Komoka's Kurt Watson scored his second to tie the game 3-3 at 16:33.  The Legionnaires came right back just 30 seconds later to take the lead again at 3-4.  With Kings Owen Say pulled for the extra attacker Joel Mazzilli scored his 13th of the season at 18:29 with assists from Chase Strychaluk and Jacob Rochford to take the game in to overtime.

Kings took an early penalty in the 4 on 4 overtime period with goaltender Say stopping 5 Legionnaire shots to kill off the power play.  Then Sarnia took a late penalty with too many men on the ice in the OT period that carried forward to the 2OT.  32 seconds into 2OT Kurt Watson netted his 3th of the night and 11th of the season for his hat trick and game winning OT goal, assisted by Joel Mazzilli and Liam Whittaker.

Kings go home with a well earned victory.

Next Kings game Saturday night at the Komoka Wellness Centre 7:15 pm to face the St Thomas Stars in the annual Veterans Appreciation night.
